This festival is also celebrated in some part of India for death of Narakasura. There are different story that who killed Narakasura? But majority of us believe that Lord Krishna who was avatar of lord Vishnu who killed Narakasura just before the diwali and save almost 16000 women who has imprisoned by Narakasura.

Kali puja is also on this day. Kali is first 10 avatar of durga.Kali was born from the forehead of goddess durga she is symbol of nari Shakti and save earth and heaven from the cruelty of the demon. She killed the entire devil and lost her control and she killed who came in front of her and only stopped when Shiva lord come in front of her.

In some part of India, this is time when rice cultivation its fruit and people celebrate this festival and eat new rice.

This day is also very holy day for Sikh religion. Thirds Sikh guru Amar das held gathering to give his blessing. Golden temple was also laid on this day in 1577. There are also many reasons. Like
